About Danny Williams

I'm Danny Williams, founder and candle maker behind Aroma Quartz. I started the business in 2020 from my cottage in Shropshire, hand-pouring the first batches of coconut wax candles on my kitchen table.

Six years on, Aroma Quartz has grown into a proper studio operation in Shrewsbury — still small batch, still hand-poured, still just me obsessing over fragrance blending and getting every pour right.

Why coconut wax

I switched to 100% coconut wax early on because I didn't want to make candles I wouldn't burn at home myself. Coconut wax burns cleaner, throws fragrance more evenly, and is fully vegan and sustainable. It costs more than paraffin or soy, but it's the right material.

The botanical wax melts

The botanical wax melts came from wanting something that looked as good as it smelled. Each melt is made with coconut wax and finished with real dried botanicals — flowers, herbs, citrus peel — that complement the scent profile. Every batch is hand-poured in the Shrewsbury studio.

What I care about

Everything I make is phthalate-free, vegan, and made without synthetic dyes. The refillable candle range came from genuinely hating how much glass gets thrown away — buy the vessel once, refill it forever.

I also run candle-making workshops from the studio in Shrewsbury, teaching people to hand-pour their own coconut wax candles from scratch.
